Finnish composer Sanna Vaarni’s new piano CD, Les yeux clos, was released by Stradivarius in January. It offers an interesting comparison between two 20th-century musicians born in opposite places: Japanese composer Tōru Takemitsu (1930–1996) and French composer Olivier Messiaen (1908–1992).
